Abstract: Lack of employee performance lead to failures of organizations (Cho and Pucik, 2015). The study is fruitful as it can successfully gain the attention of those employees in banking sector towards the importance and influence of HRM on their level of performance. The findings will suggest that a combination of inclusive training and development policies and a comprehensive performance appraisal system will have improved the employee performance. The survey should be conducted among the employees from time to time to evaluate their level of performance with the current practices and line managers should be involved in the process of designing or modifying the HRM practices.

Abstract: Students’ safety in public secondary schools is a matter of global concern. For instance, in Nigeria, there were cases of kidnapping and killing of teachers and students while school buildings were burnt down. In Kenya, students in public secondary schools had faced a number of insecurity. They included porous school fences exposing learners to attack by strangers, unlabeled trees in schools some of which produce poisonous fruits, and school gates being porous enabling strangers into the school which led to stealing of school property. The Government of Kenya, in the year 2008, launched Safety and Standards manual for schools. It was expected that implementations of school grounds safety guidelines would enhance students’ safety in the schools. From 2009 to 2018, however, media reported cases of loss of school properties due to laxity amongst the security personnel and porous gate and fences. The purpose of this study was to establish the effect of school grounds safety guidelines on students’ safety in Public Boarding Secondary Schools (P.B.S.S) in Homa Bay County. The objective of the study was to: determine the effect of school ground safety guidelines on students’ safety, in P.B.S.S in Homa Bay County. Invitational theory was used conceptualize the study. A conceptual framework showing the effect of school grounds safety guidelines (independent variables) on students’ safety (dependent variables) was used. Descriptive and correlational research designs were adopted. Study population consisted of 34 Principals, 8 Sub County Quality Assurance and Standards Officers (SCQASOs) and 4,800 students. Saturated sampling was used to sample 31 Principals and 8 SCQASOs whereas purposive sampling and simple random sampling was used to sample 369 students. Researcher’s observation schedule/document analysis guide, students’ focus group discussions and interviews were used as research instruments. Face and content validity of the instruments was determined by experts in education administration and their advice was incorporated. Reliability of the instruments was determined by making observations once in 3 schools and computing Cronbach’s Alpha, giving a coefficient of 0.935 which was reliable. Quantitative data was analyzed by use of descriptive statistics in form of frequency counts, means and percentages, whereas inferential statistics was used to carry out regression analysis with change statistics to determine whether school grounds safety guidelines had statistically significant effect on students’ safety or not and also to show whether there is effect of school grounds safety guidelines on students’ safety or not. Qualitative data was thematically analyzed. The study revealed that school ground safety guidelines had statistically significant effect on students’ safety since p<0.05 and accounted for 20.3% of the variation in students’ safety. The study also established that school ground safety guidelines had moderate and positive effect on students’ safety with coefficients of 0.479 at p – value of 0.01.The study recommended that school administrators should strive to fully implement school grounds safety guidelines given to enhance students’ safety in P.B.S.S in Homa bay County, Kenya. The study may be useful to the Ministry of Education stakeholders and policy makers in establishing the status of students’ safety and identifying school grounds safety guidelines which have not been fully implemented and pose threat to the safety of the students. This would enable the Ministry of Education to develop strategies to enhance students’ safety in public secondary schools in Kenya.

Abstract: This qualitative case study explored the effectiveness of the Grade 10 Career Guidance Modules to Grade 11 students of Saravia National High School in choosing their Senior High School tracks and strands. Homogeneous sampling was used in choosing the participants who were enrolled last school year 2020-2021 based on their tracks and strands. By utilizing a semi-structured interview guide to gather data, the responses of the participants were transcribed and analyzed by using thematic analysis. Results revealed significant themes in the participants' responses to different research questions. Regarding the participants' responses on how the Career Guidance 10 Modules changed their chosen career path, the following themes emerged such as alignment, interest, relatedness, decision-making, and others. Concerning their view on the effectiveness of the said guidance modules, the following themes emerged: realization, enhancement, cognition, and awareness, vitally important, well-guided, idea, essential, realization, understand, not difficult, readiness, trouble-free, alignment, not be wasted and effective. Since the findings in this study cannot be generalized due to having only fourteen participants at a single institution, future studies may be conducted in different settings to explore broader knowledge on the effectiveness of the Grade 10 Career Guidance Modules for further insights and help students in their career decision.

Abstract: This qualitative case study aimed to analyze and interpret the verbal and physical aggression experienced by the Grade 6 learners of Tupi 1 District, Division of South Cotabato. An in-depth interview was conducted with the four (4) Grade 6 pupils aged 11-15 years old. The responses of the participants were categorized into three main themes. These were; experiences, impact and victory, and lessons. The participants had common ideas and experiences on the verbal and physical aggression they experienced. They were maladjusted, physically weaker, peer rejected and its impacts to them were anxiety, depression, loneliness as victims of verbal and physical aggression. With the support of their families and teachers, they were able to manage their stress as they learned to forgive and help others.

Abstract: According to Murtaza (2011), a ‘Child Friendly School’ is a school that recognizes and nurtures the achievement of children's basic rights. Child Friendly Schools work with all commitment-holders, especially parents/guardians of students. Abstract: This study determined the Teaching Performance of the Basilan State College (BaSC) Faculty. The descriptive research method was adopted. The subjects of the study were the permanent, and non–permanent faculty members of the college. This study covered its main campus and the off-site campuses in Basilan Province. A stratified random sampling procedure was employed in the selection of the respondents of the study. The National Budget Circular – 461 (NBC- 461) Standard Performance Rating Form was used in determining the performance of the faculty in terms of: Commitment; Knowledge of Subject Matter; Teaching for Independent Learning; and Management of Learning. The teachers were rated by themselves, their supervisors, peers, and students. The findings of the study were: The overall teaching performance of the BaSC teachers is ‘Outstanding’ as per self-evaluation, and evaluations made by their peers, and supervisors. The teaching performance of the teachers was rated as ‘Very Satisfactory’ by their students.

Abstract: According to the K to 12 Deped Primer (2011), "K-12 means "Kindergarten and the 12 years of elementary and secondary education." Kindergarten points to the 5-year-old child who undertakes the standardized curriculum for preschoolers. Elementary education refers to 6 years of primary school (Grades 1-6) while secondary education means four years of junior high school (Grades 7-10 or HS Year 14). In addition to this, two years are now allotted for senior high school (Grades 11-12 or HS Year 5-6)". According to the DepEd discussion paper, at the core of this basic education program is "the complete human development of every graduate". The K-12 curriculum aims to enable every child "to achieve mastery of core competencies and skills", and develop tracks based on the student's interests and competencies. The focus of K-12 is twofold: curriculum enhancement and transition management. This is a synthesis of the related studies on the issues and concerns of teachers in the implementation of educational curricula. It particularized the similarities and differences of these studies in terms of the different components of research.

Abstract:  This study determined the K-12 Program Issues and Concerns of Public Elementary School Teachers of Maluso East District, Basilan Schools Division. The subject of the study were the teachers in 11 Public Elementary Schools in Maluso East District, Basilan schools Divisions. A stratified random sampling procedure was employed in the selection of the respondents of the study. The descriptive research design was adopted in this study. A two - part survey questionnaire was used. Part one drew information about: the socio-demographic profile of the teachers, which includes: Age, Sex, Civil Status; Ethnicity; Educational Attainment; and Length of Service/Experience. Part two of the questionnaire determined the K-12 Program Issues and Concerns of Public Elementary School Teachers in Maluso East District, Basilan Schools Division. These were in the areas of: Content; Goals and Objectives; Social Environment; Teaching and Learning Process; Plans and Activities; Evaluation; and Physical Facilities. The finding of the study is that, the K-12 Program Issues and Concerns of the teachers were greatest in the area of Teaching and Learning Process, followed by Issues and Concerns in the areas of Goals and Objectives; Social Environment, Evaluation, and Plans and Activities.

Abstract: While recent research on writing has highlighted the importance of feedback for students’ improvement, little research has investigated the students’ affective engagement with written corrective feedback in EFL writing classes. To address this gap, data drawn from a qualitative case study were analyzed to investigate what learner affective engagement with WCF. This study has explored how 22 Indonesian learners engaged affectively with teacher WCF in EFL writing. It examines data collected from students’ draft, teacher written corrective feedback, students’ reflective journal and semi-structured interviews. The study has found that while the participants’ affective engagement was relatively positive, but due to its practical, situational, and emotional attachment between teacher and students, several students were aware that there was an absence of cognitive and communication factor trigger them to perceive negatively on WCF.
