Abstract: This study aimed to assess barriers to therapeutic nutrition interventions for adolescents with gastric issues in four secondary schools in Lusaka District, Zambia. The study focused on determining the prevalence of gastric issues, assessing the knowledge of adolescents and teachers about nutritional management, and exploring barriers to interventions. The study adopted a descriptive research design, incorporating a mixed methods approach. A total of 64 participants were involved, with data collected via questionnaires and interviews. The quantitative data obtained were analyzed using software such as SPSS for statistical analysis whereas the qualitative collected data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The study results showed that gastric complaints were common among learners, with 70% reporting such issues in the past year. A significant relationship was found between the frequency of gastric issues and school absenteeism. While teachers had adequate knowledge of nutrition's role in managing gastric issues, many adolescents lacked sufficient knowledge about dietary practices. Barriers to intervention included limited resources, lack of knowledge, time constraints, lack of administrative support, and insufficient parental involvement. The study recommends launching awareness campaigns on nutritional management, integrating nutrition into the curriculum, improving resource access, and involving local health centers in providing support.

Abstract: The main objective of the study was to determine the moderating effect of work ethics of public secondary school teachers on the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational change. Quantitative non-experimental research using correlational techniques was the design of the study. Four hundred public secondary school teachers in Davao Region, Philippines for the school year 2017-2018 were the samples selected through stratified random sampling. Adapted questionnaires served as the survey tools. Research findings showed that school heads as perceived by their teachers have very high level of transformational leadership and teachers have very high level of work ethics. Further, findings revealed that transformational leadership and work ethics are significantly related to organizational change. Hierarchical regression as the statistical tool revealed that significant moderating effect of work ethics on the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational change does not exist. The findings did not support the alternative hypothesis of significant moderating effect of work ethics on the relationship between the two variables but did support previous research that separately transformational leadership and work ethics are important drivers of organizational change.

Abstract: The objective of my study would be to evaluate the execution of Brigada Eskwela implementation in Kinangan Integrated School, Malita South District, Division of Davao Occidental for the School Year 2020-2021. Experiential pieces of evidence revealed that year after year, the Department of Education had been implementing several projects, activities, and programs that helped realize sound philosophical and legal frameworks of the department which includes Brigada Eskwela among others. Thus, my mixed quantitative-qualitative study unveiled the experiences of the teachers and school head of Kinangan Integrated School using the purposive sampling technique.  The results revealed that the best practices in Brigada implementation are in marketing strategy and advocacy of the implementation, in the conduct of the stakeholders' forum, and in adding flavor to the bayanihan. The overall rating of the level of Brigada Eskwela implementation is 4.5, described as “Very High”. This is found significant to a small-sized school as well as to the perception of the school head, teachers, PTA Officials.

Abstract: This study explores the influence of creative leadership and organizational culture on the performance of school heads. A total of 398 public school teachers from Davao Region, the Philippines, participated in the survey. This cross-sectional descriptive survey utilized adapted survey questionnaires to determine school heads’ creative leadership competence level, the strength of the organizational culture, and overall performance from the perspectives of teachers. The findings indicate that school heads are highly rated in creative leadership dimensions – imagination, flexibility, and vision. Teachers also perceived that public schools maintain a strong organizational culture characterized by effective change management, goal achievement, teamwork, cultural strength, and customer orientation. The performance of school heads was also assessed with high competent rating in instructional supervision, professional development, and management behavior. However, the present study found that the direct influence of creative leadership and organizational culture on school heads’ performance is limited, suggesting that additional factors such as resource availability, external policy influences, or individual leader characteristics may play a critical role. The results underscore the need for a comprehensive approach to leadership development and further research to fully understand the determinants of effective school management in dynamic educational settings.

Abstract: The characteristics of dedicated school heads significantly influence the success metrics and ultimately ensure that teachers remain steadfast to the organization. Committed school heads actively realize the academic institution's vision, mission, and objectives. This research analyzed servant leadership and transformational leadership styles toward the organizational commitment of school heads of the Davao Region. In this, the levels, correlation, and regression were used to predict the significant relationship between the two types of leadership styles to organizational commitment. Using cluster sampling, 398 selected school teachers among the eleven divisions of Region XI are the study's respondents. The researcher used a survey questionnaire which was adapted from the study of Dierendonck and Nuijten, (2010) The Servant Leadership Survey: Development and Validation of a Multidimensional Measurer for the Servant Leadership, study by Alayysed et al., (2020) entitled The Impact of Transformational Leadership on Organisational Performance Case Study: The University of Jordan for the Transformational Leadership, and study of Alam (2011) Evaluation of Allen and Meyer’s Organizational Commitment Scale: A Cross-Cultural Application in Pakistan which involves three components: Affective Commitment, Continuance Commitment, and Normative Commitment for the Organizational Commitment Survey. The basic criteria that determined the participants include being a permanent teacher in the public schools of Davao Region with at least three years of service in the current station. Results show that the level of servant leadership skills and transformational leadership skills are very high, and the organizational commitment of school heads is high. The connection between servant leadership skills and organizational commitment revealed a notable moderate positive linear relationship, indicating a significant impact on organizational commitment. In contrast, transformational leadership skills exhibited a minimal correlation, suggesting an inadequate relationship with organizational commitment. Therefore, while servant leadership skills showed a meaningful moderate positive linear relationship with organizational commitment, transformational leadership skills displayed only a negligible correlation.

The findings suggest that a follow-up study should be undertaken, focusing on the negligible correlation between transformational leadership and organizational commitment, given that the majority of existing research in this area indicates a significant relationship. Additionally, it is advisable to investigate the inadequacy of the connection between servant leadership and transformational leadership, as both leadership styles are purported to have a beneficial effect on organizations.

Abstract: Children with sensory processing difficulties frequently exhibit behavioral outbursts, but it remains unclear whether these reactions stem from sensory overload or behavioral self-regulation deficits. Distinguishing between these causes is essential for effective occupational therapy interventions, as strategies for addressing sensory reactivity differ from those targeting emotional regulation difficulties. This study examined whether environmental modifications could reduce behavioral outbursts and physiological stress responses in children with sensory processing difficulties. A within-subjects experimental design was used, with 20 children (ages 5–10) exposed to two environmental conditions: an unregulated sensory environment (fluorescent lighting, unpredictable loud noises, overlapping sensory stimuli) and a controlled sensory environment (dim lighting, noise-reducing headphones, weighted blankets, and structured sensory input). Each session lasted 30 minutes, with behavioral responses systematically recorded through structured observation, heart rate variability (HRV) monitoring, and caregiver/therapist assessments. Paired t-tests revealed a significant reduction in behavioral outbursts in the controlled environment, while HRV data indicated lower physiological stress levels. Qualitative feedback from therapists and caregivers highlighted improved self-regulation and engagement in the sensory-modified setting. These findings suggest that many behavioral outbursts in children with sensory processing difficulties may be primarily sensory-driven rather than solely behavioral in nature. Occupational therapy interventions should prioritize sensory-informed strategies, emphasizing environmental modifications to enhance emotional regulation and functional participation in children with sensory challenges.
