Abstract: Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is an approach to learning and instruction in medicine that confronts students with a problem, before they engage in self-directed learning to solve this problem. It is assumed that having to think about a problem first, facilitates understanding of new information about that problem. Some students need to have a direct instruction about a topic before they learn it, this is because of cognitive load of working memory will be lower if students first master principles and facts. While in PBL, presenting the problem first, is therefore, in their view is less efficient and not befit the student learning outcome. In PBL studies showed that students learn new information is less effective than having problems presented after that information is studied as happens in cognitive load studies. Therefore, this study aimed to compare two group of students either analysing problems before studying a relevant text, or analysing the problems after studying the text.

Methods.  An experimental study conducted at a King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for health sciences (KSAU-HS) in medical college. Third-year medical students were randomly allocated to three-task (diagnostic task; learning activity; test) by following a structured reflection procedure (prior solving problem group) or (after problem solving group). The participants received the same study material on the diagnosis of jaundice. This study focused on comparing between the two groups based on their learning achievements through a knowledge test.

Results: There was a significant effect of experimental condition on students’ engagement in the learning activity and on learning outcomes. The study also included situational interest was significantly higher in PBL group than TBL group (mean = 3.8, standard deviation =0.64 versus (mean=3.4 standard deviation = 0.94). There was a significant differences emerged in age, t (33).  p = 0.05. Other variable shows no significant differences on gender p = 0.78. there was no significant value on the studying year in medical school students p=0.60.

Conclusion. Problem solving using a clinical case for medical students increase students’ interest may therefore concerned as a useful tool for teaching possibly both with simulated and real scenarios, to motivate their students and help them expand their knowledge.

Abstract: Nowadays, information and communication technology play a vital role in education to enhance and support information exchange that is essential during teaching and learning processes. Digital technology has been integrated in the educational institutions to adapt in the learning styles of the 21^st century learners. De La Salle University – Dasmariñas is one of the premier universities in the Philippines that integrates educational apps as an instructional material for both teachers and students. This study investigates the college professors’ perception towards their intention to use the educational apps in teaching tourism and hospitality management courses in De La Salle University – Dasmariñas. Technology Acceptance Model serves as the backbone of the study to further understand how users accept technology based on the two factors namely, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. In this descriptive-evaluative research, respondents were purposively selected and were asked to complete the supplied adapted questionnaire which was validated by the statistician and analyzed through Pearson Correlation. Data gathered were treated through Statistical Package for Social Sciences. The findings of the study revealed the relationship between the tourism and hospitality management professors’ perception towards the educational apps and their intention to use it as an instructional material. Due to number of sample size, the study could not further generalize the result. Therefore, researchers recommend replicating the study with a larger sample size.

Abstract: The main purpose of the study is to prove Rwandan community contributions for building the sustainable quality of education of our country which must have a coherent, rational, united, integrated, vested, established, developed, secured, tenable society with all necessary skills for self-reliance and that subsidize for the improvement of their lifestyles in the region along with the international level. With objectives as to identify the effectiveness of government stakeholders impacts on quality education, parents and partners, teachers’ influences in refining education for living in enlightened society with all required essential knowledge promoting the skills and the level of understanding of students. To determine students’ effects in rising a sustainable quality of education which can help in their own, national, global developments. The study population constituted of one thousand three hundred forty four (1344) out of whom 877 people from Groupe Scolaire Kigeme A in Gasaka Sector, 339 people from Groupe Scolaire Bugarama in Kibilizi sector, 128 people from College Mudasomwa in Tare gsector. Including head teachers, teachers and students in each school the targeted sample in this study was composed of head teachers, teachers, and students from above cited secondary schools. The total number of respondents is expected to be two hundred sixty (260). Various research instruments has been used as questionnaires, interviews which were administered to respondents in accordance with ethical rules and validity and reliability principles. Analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively, after analyzing, interpreting and discussing data from chapter four, the findings of the study can be summarized as there was a positive correlation between government stakeholders, parents, partners impacts such as internet provision,   availability of the time of leading in library, national examination corrections ,health, educational level, occupation of the parents, resting period of making sport for student, controlled movement of student out and inside the school, to live near the school and student performance in the national examination since the p-value < 0.05. It is recommended to wards MINEDUC as Ministry of education and REB as Rwanda Education board to provide support for some schools who don’t enough access on the internet, to continue to motivate teachers increasing their salary, trainings, equipment’s, tools, to search for local, international student opportunities, competitions for capacity building by enabling the schools by providing curriculum that is relevant exceeding the education for other countries, to involve teachers in planning educational policies.

Abstract: Performance in Mathematics has been poor at secondary level in Kenya despite initiatives like Strengthening Mathematics and Science Studies Education (SMASSE), providing text books and employing trained mathematics teachers by the Government. In view of the aforementioned problem; the purpose of the study was to investigate the influence of home based factors on students’ performance in Mathematics in selected public secondary schools in Migori County. The objective of the study was to determine the influence of home learning environment on students’ performance in Mathematics in Public Secondary Schools. The study was guided by Ajzens theory of planned behavior. The study adopted mixed methods approach and its research design was descriptive survey. The targeted populations were; 185 schools and 17000 form IV students and 400 Mathematics teachers. Using simple random sampling, purposive sampling techniques and Glen’s Israel formula of getting the sample size was used to get a sample size of 56 schools and 800 students 150 Mathematics teachers. Data was collected using a questionnaire and an interview schedule for selected students and Mathematics teachers. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics of mean, frequency, standard deviation, correlation coefficient and inferential statistics (ANOVA). SPSS Program version 23 was used in the analysis of data. The study has revealed that, home learning environment significantly predicts performance among secondary school students, F(1 690) 410.442, p< .05.
