Abstract: Vehicle technology has increased rapidly in recent years, particularly in relation with braking system and sensing systems. Braking system is necessary in an automobile for stopping the vehicle. Brakes are applied on the wheels to stop or to slow down the vehicle. Bleeding is the process of removal of air from the braking system. Since air is compressible so any presence of air inside brake lining does not allow transmitting brake force to break liners. This report presents Programmable Logic Controller technology which is used for controlling bleeding process of brakes of the three wheelers in Programmable Logic Controller, Human Machine Interface and the mechanical process of online brake bleeding system highlights the problems associated with existing Human Machine Interface and the probable solutions over it.

Abstract: This paper reports on the findings of a research project that had the objective to build an online symptoms and diseases management system, simply the e-governance system in the Ministry of Health that can replace the manual handling of data collection of symptoms and diseases data. Provision of quality health services is a cost that affects even the richest of economies. Its poor management can result into a social problem. It is therefore imperative for the Ministry of Health to be prepared and to be able to adequately manage the health status of the country. It is the collected data on symptoms and diseases, and areas of prevalence of this data that is critical in the management of health services. In the information era, information is generally managed through an information system. It defines the functions of specific offices and the type of data they require. The symptoms and diseases management system is a tool that will help in the management of health service delivery. Functions such as disease prevalence analysis, deployment of resources, searching capabilities, and event modeling can be performed using this system. This is a major significance of this project.The paper explores the development of the system that has far reaching implications beyond the Ministry of Health but will also help in prudent decision making by the government as it strategizes towards public health care in the country. This is a contributing factor to the agenda of E-Governance that the government has adopted. By having a central repository of symptoms and diseases, other miscellaneous aspects related to the management of public health, the indexing and locating of records relating to diseases will be greatly streamlined. This streamlining will greatly improve inter department communication and enhance the effective management of public health.

Abstract: The kinetics of oxidation of nitrite ion by quinolinium dichromate in perchloric acid medium is studied. A stoichiometric ratio of 3:1 with nitrite vs. QDC was observed. The reaction is first order with respect to [QDC] and [H+] and second order behavior with respect to [nitrite]. The mechanism involved the attack of protonated monomeric QDC (HQMC) on the substrate in the rate determining step forming a cyclic ester type complex which subsequently yielded the products. A suitable mechanism is proposed.

Abstract: Urban transportation systems are wilting under the pressure of ever growing demands on inadequate street network. Traffic management is the application of sound management principles and practice to optimize the use of existing road network with a view to improving traffic flow and road safety without impairing environmental quality. With the advent of information technology and its fast changing nature, it has become imperative to make use of better and more efficient techniques of planning. To study the effect of the Transportation System Management (TSM) measures one needs to have a clear view of the flow patterns, locations, as well as existing road network and must be able to analyze the attributes related to them. Geographic Information System (GIS) helps to do these things effectively and efficiently.

Abstract: Strength S, Weakness W, Opportunities O and Threats T in a SWOT analysis is one of the widely used techniques to extract information of both internal and external variables in the formation of planning strategies of an organization. AHP is a multi-criterion decision making method. In this paper an analysis is done to obtain the effects of SWOT on integration with AHP technique. SWOTAHP in a Steel Re Rolling Mill (SRRM) analyses through a decision process and obtaining the global and local priorities. Advantages of both techniques are visible here.

Abstract: This thesis presents the flexible multibody model development of the simplified wing-pylon structure using the Craig-Bampton approach. Since the Craig-Bampton method of Component Mode Synthesis is used, the component finite element models are developed separately without inclusion of the local joint details. This approach is used to reduce the substantial amount of modeling effort required to build the detailed finite element model, and the corresponding finite element problem size. The modal analysis of the flexible multibody model has been done and the effects of selection of different sets of fixed interface normal modes and of different cut off frequencies on natural frequencies of the pylon structure are shown. The modal analysis results of the flexible multibody model i.e. natural frequencies and the mode shapes are found to be consistent with those obtained using previously developed detailed FE model and the experimental modal model. The simplified flexible multibody modeling approach suggested in this thesis can be used to model the complex missile systems in order to reduce the modeling as well as the computational effort.

Abstract: This paper presents the approach to design and comparison of the Tuning PID & FUZZY controller for interactive Water Level Process and to model a dynamic process which can be done easily, conveniently and very efficiently. In this paper MATLAB software of Simulink modelling is used for modelling and testing of the control system. The experimental results of the interacting water level process can be satisfyingly illustrated the transient response and the steady state response. Simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed control methodology.

Abstract: A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis has been conducted to find the pressure losses for dividing and combining fluid flow through a tee junction of a solar collector manifold. Simulations are performed for a range of flow ratios and Reynolds numbers, and equations are developed for pressure loss coefficients at junctions. A theoretical model based on successive approximations then is employed to estimate the isothermal and non-isothermal flow distribution in laminar range through a collector consisting of 60 vacuum tubes connected in parallel in a reverse (U-configuration) and parallel (Z-configuration) flow arrangement. The results are in reasonable agreement with the available experimental results for U-configuration. The proposed CFD based strategy can be used as a substitute to setting up and performing costly experiments for estimating junction losses.

Abstract: A Jet erosion is normally used to study the relative erosion behaviour of different material at moderate solid concentration, velocity, and particle size and impact angle. A slurry pot  is then fabricated by inserting propeller from the bottom of the cylinder and is rotated at the speed required for uniform distribution. The test specimens are then mounted on test fixture which is fixed and has a provision to move in different angular position to find out the wear for different angles. Erosion of materials is occurs due to the impact of high velocity of slurry which is comes out from the nozzle and impacting on the test specimen. The results were obtained for brittle material and are found in good arrangement with the literature.

Abstract: Annealing furnaces have normally been adapted for the production of activated carbon causing ingression of oxidizing fumes and subsequent damage of heating elements. In view of these, the objective of this work was to develop a reactor specifically for the production of activated carbon. A reactor plant of 0.8kg capacity was designed and constructed using locally source material. Galvanised steel plate and aluminosilicate bricks   were selected as reactor shell material and refractory material respectively. The reactor has an efficiency of 80% , with a thermal stress and strain of 166.9MP and 5.6 respectively. Validation of activated carbon quality from reactor was carried out using chemical activation. Very good activated carbons were produced at the selected operating conditions.

Abstract: Effect of process variables on the oxidative dephosphorization of high -phosphorus Agbaja iron ore were studied in the process of oxidative-reduction, chloridizing and leaching. Various parameters, including increasing concentrations (CaCl2 and HCl), temperature and contact time, and reducing particle size were investigated. The material was collected, pulverized and sieved to produce different particle sizes. The ore was roasted at different temperatures. The elemental composition has been carried out using XRD technique. The Chemical composition of the unscrubbed, scrubbed, roasted and leached iron ore was determined. It was observed that increasing temperature, contact time, concentration and decreasing particle size gave a good dephosphorization. The results of oxidative- reduction, chloridizing and leaching are significantly improved by addition of calcium chloride and HCl, in comparison with those in the absence of additives and acid combined. During the oxidative –reduction and chloridizing, phosphorus oxide of 0.6% was obtained from Agbaja iron ore containing 1.5% phosphorus content at temperature of 900°C, particle size of 63µm and 19g additive after 45mins when roasted in the presence of calcium chloride. For the leaching process, temperature of 100°C, particle size of 63µm and acid concentration of 1.2M at leaching time of 120mins gave a maximum dephosphorization at 0.20% of the oxide composition of phosphorous. Thus effect of process variables on Agabaja iron ore can successfully be studied under roasting and leaching process.

Abstract: When we enter the enchanting world of electronics we have pleasant routes. The path we have chosen is the union of robotics & medicine. The integration of nanotechnology into medicine is likely to bring some new challenges in medical treatment. Let us peep inside the real world of NANO TECHNOLOGY. Nanorobot is a wonderful vision of medicine in the future. The most advanced nanomedicine involves the use of nanorobots as miniature surgeons. Advancement in nanotechnology may allow us to build artificial red blood cells called Respirocytes capable of carrying oxygen and carbon dioxide molecules (i.e., functions of natural blood cells). Respirocytes are nanorobots, tiny mechanical devices designed to operate on the molecular level.  Respirocytes can provide a temporary replacement for natural blood cells in the case of an emergency. Thus respirocytes will literally change the treatment of heart disease.

Abstract: The central theme of this investigation is to evaluate the feasibility of using coconut as a precursor material for the production of activated carbons using chemical activation processes. The chemical activation process was accomplished by impregnating the raw materials with   different dehydrating agents (KOH, ZnCl2) in different ratios and concentrations, prior to heat treatment. Characterization   of activated carbon was done using scanning electron microscope Activation temperature of 600oC and holding time of 4 h, proved to be the optimum conditions for preparing activated carbon. Coconut shell treated with 10 wt% KOH displayed  activated carbon  of  larger  pore  size   (0.28nm  )  than  those treated with 10 wt%  ZnCl2  ( 0.14nm).
