Abstract: Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and the second leading cause of cancer deaths in men. It affects middle-aged and older men and usually has an indolent but progressive clinical course. Purpose of the study: This study purpose is to: Assess quality of social life of patients with prostate cancer.  Design: descriptive exploratory design was used for the present study Sample: quota sample. Setting: The study was conducted in Oncology Department Unite at two setting: Menoufia University Hospital and Shebien –Elkoom Teaching Hospital in Menoufia Gogernorate. Instruments: Prostatic cancer interviewing questionnaire contained consisted of 3 parts. Part I: Socio-demographic interviewing questionnaire Part II: Prostate cancer interviewing questionnaire (medical history). Part III Quality of social life interviewing questionnaire including social.  Results: more than half of the studied sample (54.0%) had low quality of social status, while one-fifth (20.0%) of them had moderate quality of social status. Conclusion: more than half of the study participants experienced poor quality of psychological life.  Recommendations: In light of the study findings, the following recommendations are proposed: Improving the men’s knowledge concerning prostate cancer toward stress management and lifestyle modifications.

Conclusion: more than half of the study participants experienced poor quality of psychological life. Recommendations In light of the study findings, the following recommendations are proposed: The need for a hospital based support group as psychologists and consultants for the men with prostate cancer to improve their psychological indexes such as quality of life.

Abstract: Nurses now play a significant role in all healthcare systems. Nurses' career planning and advancement should be targeted and specific to improve professional conditions and quality of care. Aim:To investigate the relationship between career planning and career advancement. Study design: A descriptive correlational research design was utilized to conduct this study. Setting:  all in-patient care units in Shoubrakhit General Hospital. Subjects: included all professional nurses who were working in the previously selected settings (n=115). Tools: Two tools were used in order to conduct this study: Career Planning Scale and Factors Affecting Recruitment and Career Advancement Questionnaire. Results: The finding of this study revealed that the vast majority of the studied nurses had a good level of career planning. The highest career planning levels were related to self-knowledge. The highest facilitating factors for career advancement were educational qualifications. The highest constraining factors for career advancement were sexual harassment. Conclusion: There was statistically significant positive low correlation between nurses' level of career planning and total factors affecting career advancement (r= 0.214, p= 0.022). Recommendations: add policies that facilitate and foster nurses career planning and advancement as, nursing education policies training polices, objective appointment and promotion policies. In addition, integrate the concept of career planning and career advancement into the curriculum of undergraduate and postgraduate to raise the awareness of future nurses toward their career path. Also, Conduct frequent training programs and series of workshops on career planning and career advancement.

Abstract: A mind map is drawing which can be used as a simplified content management system. It allows storing all data in a centralized location to stay organized. The aim of this study: to assess the effectiveness of using of mind map to improve nurses performance regarding infection control at Obstetric and Gynecological Departments. Design: a quasi-experimental study was used. Setting: the study conducted in obstetrics and gynecological departments, Menoufia university hospitals, Menoufia Governorate. Subjects & Methods: a total of 55 nursing staff in obstetrics and gynecology department in the period from April 2019 to august 2019 were recruited in the study. There were divided into subgroup about 5 to 7 nurses were attended that used the mind mapping as a study tool. Data were collected through questionnaire sheet, observational check list, pretest, posttest & follow up test and nurses’ opinionnaire sheet. Results: revealed that there is statistically significant difference was found between the pretest and posttest regarding nurses’ knowledge improvement and performance. Highly statistically significant difference was found between total knowledge regarding mind mapping & performance of the nurses. Conclusion & Recommendations: based on the results of the current study, it can be concluded that using of mind mapping strategy significantly improve nurses’ knowledge & performance in obstetrics and gynecology departments. Based on the finding the study is recommend: Integrating mind mapping strategy as a method of training and teaching to nurses receiving training courses.

Abstract: A pacemaker may be used as a supportive therapy technique to help patients with long-term heart rhythm disorders avoid complications such as sudden death. A nurse's role in the care of cardiac pacemaker patients is crucial. Aim of the study: To examine the effectiveness of an intervention protocol on nurse’s knowledge and practice regarding permanent pacemaker patient`s care. A quasi-experimental research design was used in intensive care units and cardiac care unit for 50 nurses at Al-Salam and Port Fouad hospital in Port Said city, Egypt. Intervention protocol for nurses was achieved through the following data collection tools as before-designed questionnaire, observation checklists sheet and intervention protocol. The result showed that the interventions had a better effect on knowledge–and practice score regarding pacemaker care after implementation of the intervention protocol compared to before intervention with only statistical significant with practice. also, there was positive strongly correlation between the studied nurses level of education, experience and knowledge regarding pacemaker at after program with statistical significant difference regarding experience. Therefore, this intervention protocol can be implemented in health practice and research in order to improve patient care. Conclusions. The results of this study displayed that before the educational program was implemented, the majority of nurses had unsatisfied practice and minority inadequate knowledge in regards to artificial pacemakers, but after it was implemented, there was an improvement

Abstract: Breast cancer is one of the most important health problems facing women today. Breast cancer is known to be the second leading cause of cancer deaths after lung cancer in Saudi Arabia. Worldwide, breast cancer is the third most frequent cancer in the world and the leading cause of cancer mortality in women. Saudi Arabia is a country that provides free healthcare services, but the rates of breast cancer screening are very low. This contradiction between the availability of free healthcare services and Saudi women not utilizing these services necessitates an in-depth understanding of the health-related beliefs and obstacles towards breast cancer screening among women. In this study, the researcher assessed the relationship between self-breast examination behaviors and health belief model, variables were investigated using an analytical cross-sectional study and convenience sample of Shaqra university female students (400) by the Self-administered survey, Breast cancer awareness measure, and Champion health belief model. The scale measured the self-breast examination behaviors in relation to the health belief model. Correlational statistics were used to determine the relationships. The study revealed that there was a high percentage of female university students that had unsatisfactory knowledge, negative attitudes, and poor practice regarding the self-breast examination. The study recommended that breast cancer awareness programs should be conducted in Shaqra university on a regular basis and should focus on removing perceived obstacles to screening and enhancing self-efficacy among female students. Policymakers should integrate breast cancer awareness programs in the routine programs provided in all hospitals and healthcare centers.

Title: Health Belief Model as a predictor of Self-Breast Examination Behaviors among Female Shaqra University Students

Abstract: A comparative cross-sectional study design was conducted among pupils of public and private primary schools in Port Harcourt using a multistage sampling method. A total of 600 completed questionnaires were retrieved from parents of school children aged 5-13 years and anthropometrics were taken from the pupils. Results showed there was a 7.2% (43/600) overall prevalence of obesity among the pupils, while the difference in the distribution of obesity in private schools was 10% and the prevalence in public schools was 4.3% which was statistically significant (p=0.0007). Females in private schools had increased likelihood for been obese (OR = 2.41; 95 % CI = 1.1–5.2; p = 0.035). The socioeconomic status of parents has a statistically significant relationship with the presence of obesity in pupils in private schools (p<0.001) but none in public schools (p=0.821). The majority of the parents 279 (93.0%) in private schools knew that childhood obesity is preventable and 245 (81.7%) in public schools also agreed to this statement (chi-square =17.42, p-value = 0.001). Up to 168 (56%) parents in public schools knew that obesity may cause diabetes, so also did 136 (45.3%) of the parents in private schools (chi square= 6.82, p= 0.009). There were also significant differences (p < 0.05) in the practice of prevention of obesity between parents of public and private school pupils. Undernutrition was common among the pupils in public schools but obesity was seen majorly in pupils in private schools and appeared largely driven by the Socioeconomic status of the parents.  Parents play an important role in shaping their children's lifestyle; therefore, interventions should focus on providing them with information to help them maintain a healthy weight.

Abstract: Healthcare is viewed as a service provided by health workers in order to satiate the pressing health needs of a population. It is however, difficult and in extreme cases, impossible to achieve this without an adequate supply of the health workforce as health cannot exist without a workforce.

This dissertation focuses on a branch of Nigeria’s health workforce called the nursing auxiliaries otherwise known as health care assistants (HCAs), nursing assistants and nursing aides. Nigeria was chosen because it is the writer’s country and based on observed evidences, literature and anecdotes, auxiliaries in Nigeria lack training despite the fact that they work in mainly private hospitals where they are substituted for nurses, performing simple to complex roles.

A critical realist review is therefore applied in this paper to explore what the roles and training needs of nursing auxiliaries in Nigeria should be, identify their relevance in the health sector and make recommendations for future service improvement and advancement in nursing practice in the Nigerian as well as the universal health system.

These aims will be achieved through extensive search of relevant literature, policies and theories while comparing practices in different countries and drawing on exemplary strategies adopted by countries in the training of HCAs. Personal, educational and professional experiences have also contributed to the dissertation process.

The paper concludes with the dissertation achievements which include recommendations for a training programme for nursing auxiliaries in Nigeria, some preliminary plans on the project implementation and suggestions on maintenance of healthcare practices through regular monitoring and supervision. 

An adequate supply of appropriately educated and motivated health care workers is therefore, needed in a population to promote and maintain a high quality of health.

Setting: the study conducted in obstetrics and gynecological departments, Menoufia university hospitals, Menoufia Governorate. Sample: convenient sample technique. Materials & Methods: a total of 55 nursing staff in obstetrics and gynecology department in the period from April 2019 to august 2019 were recruited in the study. Data were collected through questionnaire sheet, observational check list and nurses’ opinionnaire sheet. The results: finding of the present study revealed that, there were poor nurses’ knowledge and performance regarding infection control the studied sample had poor knowledge, fair and had good knowledge. Also the study had negative performance and some of them had positive performance regarding infection control using mind map. Conclusion: there was poor of nurses' knowledge and practice of infection control using mind map. Recommendation: There is an important need to develop training program about infection control using mind map for all nurses working in obstetrics and gynecology department to increase knowledge and practice.

Abstract: Background: Delirium is considered a common, life threatening and a cause of morbidity and mortality that can be prevented in ICU patients. Several studies have indicated that nurses’ knowledge and practices for delirium are inadequate. Therefore, Aim of this study is to assess the level of nurses’ performance toward patients with delirium in intensive care unit. Design: A descriptive exploratory research design was utilized in this study. Setting: The study was conducted at intensive care unit in Banha health insurance hospital. Sample: A convenient sample of nurses (65) from both sex working in the intensive care unit. Tools of data collection: Data were collected by using three tools: Tool (I) Nurses’ self-administered interview questionnaire it consists of two parts (Part I Socio Demographic Characteristics of Nurses, Part II Nurses’ Delirium Knowledge Assessment Questionnaire), Tool II Observational Checklist to assess the level of nurses’ practice and Tool III Nurses’ Attitude Assessment Questionnaire. Results: the majority of the study subjects had satisfactory knowledge and nearly two third of the studied subjects had positive attitude; while more than three quarters of them had incompetent practice toward patients with delirium in intensive care unit. Conclusion: the study funding indicated a highly statistically significant positive correlation between nurses’ knowledge, practices and attitude.  Recommendations: Incorporating cognitive assessment in general and delirium assessment in particular into nursing education courses and Integration of delirium assessment and management into daily nursing care of critically ill patients and training critical care nurses about early recognition of delirium among critically ill patients.

Abstract: Background: Genital prolapse is a common problem in women. It affects their quality of life, prolapse was up to seven times more common in ladies who had more than seven children compared to those who had one Objective: This study was an attempt to determine the effect of core exercises and interferential therapy in treatment of postnatal genital prolapse Methods: Twenty multiparus females suffering from genital prolapse post-natal participated in this study. Their ages ranged from (25-40) years and their body mass index not exceed 30 Kg/m2. They were divided into two equal group. The study group (A) received core exercises and interferential therapy for 12 sessions (one every other day)3 times per week. While the control group (B) received interferential therapy only. Results: There were a highly significant improvement in pelvic floor muscle strength after treatment in each group and there was a highly   significant difference between groups in pelvic floor muscle strength favoring group (A). Conclusion: We found  that core exercise are excellent in improving pelvic floor muscle strength in treating post-natal genital prolapse.

Abstract: Background: Children with autism spectrum disorders may experience medical or neurologic, gastrointestinal symptoms, sleep difficulties, behavioral or mental health symptoms that occurs in the most of them. The aim of the study was to examine the effect of child family care pathway intervention on managing autism spectrum disorder (mothers' knowledge, stress, confidence, coping level and children behavior outcome). Method: Design: A quasi-experimental research design was utilized. Setting: The study was conducted in pediatric psychiatric out-patient clinic at Mansoura University Hospital, Egypt. Sample: It composed of 63 autistic children and their mothers. Tools of data collection: -I:  Mothers constructed interviewing questionnaire, II: Child behavior checklist, III: The Coping Health Inventory for mothers–Parents, IV: The Confidence Degree Questionnaire for Families/ mothers, and V: Parenting Stress Instrument Index   Results; Minority 7.9% of studied mothers have highly coping level during dealing with autistic children pre intervention, which increased to be three quarter 74.6% & 79.4% respectively have high coping level immediately after and 3 months’ post pathway intervention. Mothers reported that their autistic child's behavior had slightly improved after pathway intervention related to anxious, depressed, withdrawal, social problems, somatic complaints, thought problems, attention problems, aggressive and rule-breaking behavior. Also it was found that the one third of studied autistic children were ranged in borderline behavior range pre child family pathway intervention, which slightly improved to 42.9% and 41.3% respectively) were ranged in borderline behavior range immediately after and 3 months’ post pathway intervention with statistical significant differences. Conclusion: All mothers participated in the current study, seeing behavioral changes in themselves and their children. Implications for Practice: Development of free to access supportive services to autistic children and their families in Egypt, for example early diagnosis and counseling parents.

Abstract: Progress of labor may affect the parturient women decision for elective cesarean section. Eating date fruit can hasten labor progress and reduce the rate of cesarean section. Aim: Evaluate the effect of eating date on the progress of labor for parturient women. Methods: A quasi-experimental research design was used. Subjects: A purposive sample of 92 parturient women who admitted to the Obstetrical and Gynecological Department at Mit-Ghamer General Hospital, Mit-Ghamer city, Dakahlia Governorate. The sample divided in to two groups; the control group received normal hospital care and the intervention group received 7 date fruit to eat after admission.  Tools of data collection: Three tools were used for data collection; the first was a Structured Interview Schedule to assess the woman's general characteristics; the second was Bishop Score to assess the cervical favorability for vaginal delivery and third tool was the Modified World Health Organization Partogram to assess the progress of labor. Results: The intervention group that ate date fruit exhibit faster labor progress as compared to the control group with statistical significant difference. Conclusion: The study hypothesis was accepted; where eating date fruit has a positive effect on the progress of labor in the intervention group compared to the usual care in the control group.

Abstract: COVID-19 pandemic is creating unprecedented and unchartered demands on critical care units to meet patient needs. Nurses play a pivotal role in delivering effective, flexible, and safe care which makes them are highly vulnerable to fatigue. The main objective of the paper is to determine critical care nurse’s perception of fatigue associated with COVID-19 working hours. A descriptive research design was used in this study. A convenience sample of 150 nurses was involved in the current study. Three tools were used in this study for data collection namely nurse-related data assessment; critical care nurses fatigue perception; and job satisfaction tool. The current study findings show that majority were aged between 20 to less than 30 years old, and were males. The majority of studied nurse’s perception of the fatigue level was mild. In contrast, at the end of the shift was severe. Also, it was found that the total mean percentage of the physical and environmental fatigue-related risk factors were 81.6±9.5, and 52.6±7.1respectively for nurses who perceived severe fatigue. It was recommended that nurses should perform a self-assessment and report if unable to start and during a work shift to provide safe provision of care. Communicate nurse manager about the impacts of shift patterns, and limit overtime working hours.

Abstract: Contents: Varicose veins is among common vascular abnormalities across the globe. Studies reveal that approximately a quarter of the world’s population is suffering from varicose veins and its related complications. Aim: The aim of study is to explore the relevant evidence on nurses' knowledge after implementation of self-Instructional Module regarding the prevention and management strategy of varicose veins. Methods: The scoping review of the relevant research findings of the nurse's knowledge after implementation of self-Instructional Module regarding varicose veins included 14 relevant studies. These studies published between 2015- 2020 were recruited from authentic databases like MEDLINE, PubMed, CINHAL. Result: The reviewed articles, founded that nurse lack of sufficient knowledge and understanding of varicose veins. The results showed that an educational program based on the Health Belief Model (HBM) and activity education on the adoption of defensive behaviors among nurses' varicose vein was effective in enhancing knowledge Conclusion: The research demonstrates that knowledge of varicose veins is poor too modest among nurses' Varicose vein is known to affect people who spend longer period working while standing.

Abstract: Background: Osteoporosis is a metabolic bone disorder and it is the most common chronic bone disease, which affected women more than men .Aim :The aim of the study was to investigate nutritional indicators regarding osteoporosis among female non-medical college students at Qassim university .Methods: A cross –sectional descriptive research design was used for conducted this study on 414 female non-medical college students at Qassim university  using 5 adapted self-administered tools as sociodemographic data ; knowledge assessment about osteoporosis which consisted of 20 items , nutritional habits consisted of 33 items ; 7 items concerning pattern of exercise and final tool towards anthropometric  measurements which includes  5 items related to Height, weight, wrist circumference, arm circumference, chest circumference. Results: revealed that (91.5%) of students performed regularly exercises. Also, there are a statistically significance relation between student's age and their weight and wrist circumstance and between student's marital status and their weight while a highly statistically significance relation were found between student's residence and their height, chest and wrist circumstance.  Conclusion: More than two-third of students has a good knowledge regarding osteoporosis and preventive measures especially nutritional aspects as an indicator of osteoporosis. About half of student's have ideal anthropometric measurements as weight; height; a chest; arm circumference and Wrist circumference. Recommendations: Further research studies should be undertaken on the effect of nutritional adequacy for women on occurrence of osteoporosis on large sample size to generalize the result of study to improve women preventive attitude regarding preventive diet, exercises, and ambulation as a nutritional indicators in many geographical areas to investigate the confounding factors that hinder women's optimal health.

Abstract: The organizational system that attracts nurses to Magnet hospitals have found to be consistently and significantly associated with quality care significantly associated with better patient outcomes. Also, the Magnet hospitals shared certain organizational characteristics that served to promote professional nursing practice. Aim of the study: Was to assess nursing personnel’ perception about magnetic hospital forces. Design: A descriptive design was utilized in conducting this study. Setting: At a private  hospital, Cairo, Egypt. Subjects: All available nursing personnel’s working full time at in-patient units with total number of nurses was (200). Tools of data collection: One tools namely nursing personnel’ perception about magnetic hospital questionnaire. Results: The study findings revealed that, the majority percentage (88.5%) of the studied sample were satisfied about; nursing leaders have authority and accountability on all nursing practices. Also, the majority percentage (89.5) % of the studied sample was satisfied about the organizational structure of the hospital shows the responsibilities and communication channels clearly. Conclusion: There was statistically significant deference (P < 0.05) in all magnetic hospital forces (Transformational leadership, structural empowerment, exemplary professional practice, new knowledge and innovation and improvements, empirical quality). Recommendations: Assess nursing leader needs in conflict resolution strategies between nursing team members and physicians. Further, assessment of magnet hospital forces in governorate sector. Improve a design tools for nursing work environment in magnet hospitals.

Abstract: Bronchial Asthma (BA) is a serious, global, and chronic health problem among children. Worldwide, the prevalence of bronchial asthma, its related morbidity and mortality are increasing. It leads to school absenteeism, frequent emergency admission and hospitalization. Bronchial Asthma was impairing not only the quality of life of the children but also their families' caregivers. Aim of the study: determine quality of life among children with bronchial asthma and their families’ caregivers. Settings: The study was conducted at pediatric outpatient, inpatient departments and pediatric allergy clinic at Damanhur Medical National Institute. Subjects: A convenient sample of 100 children with bronchial asthma and their caregivers. Tools: three tools were used for data collection. Socio-demographic characteristics of children with BA and their caregivers and children's clinical data structured interview schedule tool, Pediatric Asthma Quality of life Questionnaire with Standardized Activity (PAQLQS) and Pediatric Asthma Caregiver's Quality of Life Questionnaire (PACQLQ) tool. Results: The highest percent of children exhibited low quality of life level regarding activity limitation, symptoms as well as emotional function domains. The highest percent of caregivers had low quality of life concerning activity limitation and emotional function domains. Conclusion: The findings of the present study concluded that bronchial asthma is affecting the quality of life   for both children and their caregivers as the majority of children and their caregivers exhibited low quality of life. Recommendations: Conducting continuous training and health education sessions using simplified brochures and leaflets including domains of health promoting quality of life for both children with bronchial asthma and their caregivers.

Abstract: Cigarette smoking is the leading cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide, smoking killed more than 8 million people each year, about 80% in low- and middle-income countries such as Nigeria, now it has become a public health problem. This study assessed the prevalence cigarette smoking among youths (18-29) years in Ikperejere community, Ihitte/Uboma LGA Imo State. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among 348 young adults in the rural community and data was collected using interviewer administered questionnaire. The study showed that about half 145(44.8%) of the respondents have smoked cigarette and majority 68(46.3%) of the respondent who had ever smoked, reported smoking their first cigarette at 16-22 years of age, followed by 52(35.4%) at 10-15 years and 27(18.4%) at 21-29 years of age. The male gender significantly increased the likelihood of smoking by 5.1 times (95% C.I: 3.0 – 8.6). The history of smoking in parent also increased the likelihood of smoking by 1.8 times (95% C.I: 1.1 – 2.8) and friends that smoke increased the likelihood of smoking by 3.4 times (95% C.I: 2.1 – 5.4). It is imperative that measures should be employed to discourage the rate of smoking and relevant interventions should be created to counteract the factors that increases the likelihood of smoking among young adults. Hence, health education is vital to make these changes among young adults.

Abstract: Objective: To determine the prevalence of low back discomfort in adults aged 65 to 70 years old, as well as the association between the mattresses they use.

Method: Adults aged 65-70 years who had been using the same type of mattress for more than 3 months were included in the cross-sectional study, which took place in Greece from June to September 2021. The Numeric Pain Rating Scale and a self-structured questionnaire were used to collect data. SPSS 25 was used to analyze the data.

Results: Of the 122 subjects, 85 (69.7%) were women; 37 (30.3%) were men. The overall mean age was 67.4±1.70 years. 65 (53.3%) subjects were using foam mattresses; 37 (30.3%) spring mattress; 20 (16.4%) firm mattresses. There was a significant effect of the mattress type on the level of back pain (p < 0.001). Spring mattress was significantly different than the firm mattress (p < 0.001) and the foam mattress (p < 0.001). However, the firm mattress did not significantly differ foam mattress (p = 0.069).

Conclusion: Low back discomfort was shown to be common in persons aged 65-70, and it was more common in those who had been sleeping on firm or foam mattresses.

Abstract: Artificial intelligence and robotics have been emerging worldwide Recently Egypt experience is evolving as scientists in Mansoura University have proposed robots for isolation hospitals, the first author of this research have previously studied artificial intelligence in the form of mobile medical health application, Nursing students presented another experience at Ain Shams University as they proposed robot nurse to carry out primary nursing tasks. Aim: This study aimed to explore the potential impact of artificial intelligence and robotics on medical-surgical nursing practice from the point of view of both patients and nurses. Methods: Through four months, subjects of the study, 16 Patients and 20 medical surgical nursing practitioners were interviewed by the investigators using open-ended questions about their thoughts and opinions about the effects of AI and robotics on health care provision, focusing on medical-surgical nursing tasks. In addition, a qualitative descriptive analysis of their answers was done. Results: Answers of both patients and nurses are classified into four main themes: first: compassion and humanity of nurse practitioner versus AI and robot. Second: boundaries and constraints of AI and robotics. Third: Advantages of AI and robotics. Finally, the fourth theme was about ethical and social worries. Conclusion: This research provides current knowledge on patients' and nurses' opinions about the impact of AI and robotics, focusing on medical-surgical nursing practice. Contradicting the opinion of biomedical informatics professionals, patients and nurse practitioners found that the limitations of AI and robotics exceed their advantage. Further extensive studies are needed to present an in-depth understanding of the opinions of patients and nurses as well as other health care providers.

Abstract: Weaning patients from mechanical ventilation is a challenging and complex issue for healthcare providers in ICUs. Aim: To determine the predictors of successful weaning among mechanically ventilated patients. Design: A descriptive correlational study. Setting: the study was carried out at neurosurgical ICU of Menoufia University Hospital. Sample: A convenient sample of 60 patients who were admitted to the neurosurgical ICUs. Tools:(1)A Semi Structured Demographic Questionnaire, (2) Respiratory Neuromuscular Function Questionnaire, (3) Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS),(4)Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II scale, (5) Charlson Comorbidity Index, and (6) Modified Nutrition Risk Assessment in Critically Ill (m-NUTRIC). Results: reveals that there was no correlation between weaning success rate and age, nutritional status, co- morbidities among mechanically ventilated patients. However, there was a significant negative correlation between weaning success rate and severity of illness (APACHE II score) (P= 0.000).

Conclusion: There was no significant relationship between predictors of weaning as age, nutritional status, co-morbid conditions while there was a significant   negative correlation between severity of illness and weaning success rate among mechanically ventilated patients. Recommendation: The findings of the current study can provide direction for predicting the factors behind successful weaning that can be used as a foundation for future research.

Abstract: Customers are often forced to wait in line whenever the service facility is busy. However, too much waiting in line causes inconvenience to customers and economic costs to firms. Queuing theory is a mathematical approach for analysing waiting lines (queues). The effect of queuing in relation to the time spent by customers to access services is increasingly becoming a major source of concern. Moreover, For the reason that keeping customers waiting too long involves excessive cost to them (waiting cost). Providing too much service capacity to operate a system involves excessive cost. But not providing enough service capacity results in excessive causes the waiting line to become excessively long. The ultimate goal is to provide an economic balance between the cost of service and the cost associated with the waiting for that service. The objective of this paper is to examine the queuing congestion in Danjalele Enterprise, Funtua, and develop a suitable queuing model for the system. The study concludes that an alternate model may be more efficient when compared with the existing one. The paper recommends that the management of the Enterprise should adopt a multi-server model as this will further attract potential customers to patronize the products and thereby increasing their satisfaction.

Abstract: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex heterogeneous endocrine disorder associated with reproductive morbidity, including menstrual dysfunction and infertility. A quasi experimental intervention study aimed at assessing the effect of lifestyle modification counseling on menstrual dysfunction. The study was conducted in outpatient gynecological/infertility clinic at Ain Shams Maternity University hospital. Purposive sample of 86 cases were enrolled, inclusive criteria; Women medically diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome, reproductive age (18-40yrs), Married Women, overweight & obese women and women with menstrual dysfunction. Tools used for data collection consisted of Arabic Structured Interviewing questionnaire, Two Arabic Weekly logs to record regularity of diet & exercise, Woman's follow up card to record measures changes pre/post intervention. Results revealed that there is a significant improvement in menstrual function and highly significant in weight loss, waist and hip ratio and hip waist circumference. In conclusion present study drew attention to critical point that lifestyle modification with weight loss leads to improve hormonal profile, which restores ovulation resulting in improving menstrual function & relieving PCOs symptoms. The study recommended detect center for PCOs cases inside infertility/gynecological clinics to ensure lifestyle modification, Future research should focus on the optimal dietary strategies and exercise regimens for PCOs treatment and the relative efficacy and appropriate use of lifestyle management versus anti-obesity pharmacologic agents and surgery, study brochure dissemination in gynecological and infertility clinics to increase women awareness about menstrual dysfunction and lifestyle modification.

Abstract: School is the second home for children and at school there’s a whole new set up of challenges. Parents when they drop their children off school they totally rely on the teachers as the second parents in the institute, they fully believe that their children will be cared for. Various activities are developed at school, so it is suitable place for accidents to happen and First aid is a basic need there. Hence teachers are fully responsible to prevent any harm to the student, therefore, they have to be filled with knowledge & practice of first aid.

Objectives: The study aimed to assess knowledge and attitudes of primary schoolteachers towards first aid in Qassim region, Saudi Arabia.

Method: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among a convenience sample of 700 primary schools’ teachers from primary schools in 18 provinces at Qassim region, Saudi Arabia.  validated questionnaire was applied for data collection. The questionnaire included three parts: part 1 had Sociodemographic details of the participants, part 2 had items related to Knowledge, and attitude regarding first aid skills was included in part three. Data was analysed using SPSS version 23.

Results: It was found that 79.9% of participants received first‑aid knowledge and the main sources of their information were from experience and internet. The mean score of knowledge about the first aid of the population was found to be 17.36. It was found that teachers who have good knowledge of first aid are 87.6%. With  regards  to  teachers' attitudes  towards  first  aid,  the results  showed  that 91.4% of  the  teachers had  a  positive attitude  toward  first  aid.

Abstract: The impact of Coronavirus Disease 2019 is related to the immune system and acts indirectly via various routes, which reflects the pathological nature of the virus’s invasion of the respiratory tract via mucous membranes. Because of this intricate and indirect effect, and because of multi-drug treatments and intensive therapies, it is thought that Coronavirus Disease 2019 could aggravate some oral conditions, especially those with autoimmune aetiology, which have been linked to a long-term pharmacotherapy or a compromised immune system. Objective: This review aims to draw attention to the impacts of Coronavirus Disease 2019 on oral health and advance dental healthcare workers’ knowledge. Method: The PubMed Medline database was used to explore original research articles published in English language in the timeframe 2019–2021. Result: It evaluates the effects of Coronavirus Disease 2019 on oral health. Conclusion: This review article illustrates that patients who have survived the adverse oral effects of Coronavirus Disease 2019 and its treatments may have lasting symptoms that require further care.

Abstract: Constipation is a common complication in patients with cancer. Whilst the standardized clinical guidelines are established to be implemented in the different settings, still the implementation of these guidelines are unclear and scanty researches were conducted.

Aim: Summarize evidences related to constipation management in adult patients with cancer. Method: A systematic review search of Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science was conducted. English language articles about the prevalence, risk factors, non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic measures for constipation in cancer patients were included. 

Results: Initial search retrieved a total of 157 articles. After screening 88 were refined. Another screening was done to include only articles meet the inclusion criteria. A total of 29 full text articles were identified as eligible articles. A final list of 20 articles was decided to be included in the analysis.

Conclusion: Extraordinary prevalence of constipation remained observed among patients with cancer. Subcutaneous injection of Methylnaltrexone is effective in management of constipation for cancer patients and enema is contraindicated for certain conditions.Advanced practitioners such as specialist nurses and clinicians should establish a standardized bowel protocol including preventive and non-pharmacological guidelines to be implemented in the practice settings.

Abstract: Colostomy is not a disease, but a change in the approach body works that alters normal passage of elimination. It is a life-saving procedure and the corner stone for treatment of many gastrointestinal disorders. Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the most common cause of colostomy. Nursing assessment for colostomy patients’ knowledge and self-efficacy should be done to investigate, identify and specify their needs and stoma care self-efficacy to help in putting the plan of care effectively based on their needs and to help those patients to cope with their problems which may be raised. Objective: Assess the knowledge and self-efficacy among patients with colostomy. Setting: This study was conducted at Alexandria Main University Hospital in the following settings: Colorectal Surgical Outpatient, Gastrointestinal Surgical Outpatient and Oncology Surgical Outpatient Clinics, Colorectal Surgical, Gastrointestinal Surgical and Oncology Surgical Units  Subjects: A convenient sample of 60 adult patients. Tools: Two tools were used. Tool I: Knowledge of Patients with colostomy Structured Interview Schedule. Tool II: Stoma care self-efficacy Scale.  Results: the study revealed that the majority (81.7%) of the studied patients had poor knowledge level, while 13.3% % of them had fair knowledge level and only 5% of them had good knowledge level. Whereas, it was found that more than two-thirds of the studied patients (68.3%) had low self-efficacy, while less than one-third (30.7%) of them had high self-efficacy. There was a statistically significant strong positive correlation between patients’ overall knowledge mean percent score and overall self-efficacy mean percent score (p< 0.001). Also it was noticed that there was a statistical significant relation between patients' overall knowledge level and age (p = 0.001), gender (p = 0.046) educational level (p = p=0.008), previous training on stoma care (p> 0.005). It was revealed that; there was statistically significance relation between overall patients' self-efficacy level and age (p = 0.011), educational level (p = 0.001). Conclusion: Patients' knowledge and self-efficacy regarding colostomy was noticed to be poor knowledge and low self-efficacy. Recommendations: Developing and implementing educational programs for patients with colostomy in order to improve their knowledge and self-efficacy regarding colostomy care, involving family and caregivers who participate in colostomy patient’s care.

Abstract: Quality of nursing care of ocular surgery patient should be conforming to standards of care, which are considered as a starting point for better and excellent practice. Objectives: This study aimed to assess nurses’ adherence to standardized nursing practices for patients undergoing eye surgeries. Setting: The study was conducted at Lions Sight First Eye Hospital, Nairobi, Kenya. Design: a descriptive research design. Subjects: A convenience sample of 70 ophthalmic nurses who were available at the time of data collection, providing direct pre and post- operative care to patients undergoing eye surgeries were included Data collection: Three tools were utilized: a structured questionnaire on nurses’ knowledge level and perceived barriers to standardized nursing practices and an observational Checklist Results: Ninety two point nine percent of the studied nurses had high scores in pre-operative questions, while 87.1% had high scores in post-operative questions. Eighty eight point six percent of the studied nurses had adequate adherence to pre- operative nursing practices and (92.9%) had adequate adherence to post-operative nursing practices. The organizational related barriers had the highest mean percentage score, followed by environment related barriers and lastly individual related barriers. Conclusion: Most of the studied nurses had high adherence rate to standardized nursing practices but adherence varied across different domains of practice. Recommendations: Continuing nursing education programs/sessions on eye surgery guidelines to update and enhance ophthalmic nurses’ knowledge and practice are highly recommended.

Abstract: Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system that represents one of the major causes of neurological disability, impairing quality of life during patients' productive life. Aim of the study was to assess the quality of life needs for patients with multiple sclerosis. Design: A descriptive exploratory study. Settings: Multiple Sclerosis Unit of Qasr Al-Aini at Cairo University Hospitals. Study subjects: A purposive sample of 70 adult patients from both genders admitted to multiple sclerosis unit. Data collection tools: Tool I. Interview Questionnaire Sheet. Tool II. Multiple Sclerosis Quality of Life -54 Instrument. Results: Regarding patients’ knowledge, nearly three quarters of studied patients had poor total knowledge regarding multiple sclerosis, while more than one quarter of them had average total knowledge. Regarding patients’ quality of life, nearly three quarters of studied patients had poor  total quality of life regarding multiple sclerosis whenever, more than one quarters of them had average total quality of life regarding multiple sclerosis. There is a highly statistically significant relation between demographic characteristics and patients’ total knowledge. There was statistically significant relation between patients' total knowledge and their total quality of life related to multiple sclerosis Conclusion: Regarding patients’ knowledge, nearly three quarters of studied patients had poor total knowledge regarding multiple sclerosis. Regarding patients’ quality of life, nearly three quarters of studied patients had poor total quality of life regarding multiple sclerosis. Recommendations: Investigators should continuously create educational programs for multiple sclerosis patients’ and their families about the disease, management, complication & treatment. Ensuring of adequate assessment of nurses during their care and providing teaching with motivation and feedback for patients with multiple sclerosis.
