Abstract: Purpose- The study aimed at analysing the economic effect of waste management practices on the households in Ibadan.

Design/Methodology/Approach- A sample of 500 households were selected for the study. Heads of households were selected using multi-stage sampling technique. Data were obtained through the use of questionnaire to interview household heads on variables such as absenteeism at work, waste management activities and cost incurred by household members to treat illness. Ordinary Least Square Regression was utilised to analyse the data.

Findings- The results showed that waste management practices did not predict the cost of treating illness (F-statistic = 0.92, p > 0.05) for both subscribers and non-subscribers. Non-subscribers to waste collection service had poor waste management practices and thereby constituted low productivity.

Research Limitation Implications- The economic outcome of waste management in this study was restricted to the indirect economic effect (health impact) of waste management. There could be extension of future research in the area of direct economic outcomes of waste management (environmental impact).

Practical Implication- There should be emphasis on the importance of subscribing to the service of waste collection so that productivity will be enhanced.

Originality/Value- This study stressed the economic relevance of the health impact of household waste management in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

Abstract: The study investigated the relationship between Workplace Harmony and Workers Productvity Challenges in the oil and gas companies in Nigeria. The study adopted the Survey/Cross sectional method. The chosen dimensions Workplace Harmony adopted in the study are : Incidence of Strike, Low grievance and Incidence of Lock out. The Population of study is made up of all the listed oil and gas companies listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX) for the period 2015-2021, consisting of 11 companies The major research instrument is the questionnaire. The study developed hypotheses and the hypotheses were tested using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) with the aid of statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) version 21 soft ware. The findings of the tested hypotheses indicated that there are low positive relationship between the dimension of workplace harmony and workers productivity challenges in the oil and gas companies in Nigeria. Deriving from the findings the research conclude that there is a low positive relationship between workers productivity challenges and workplace harmony. Similarly, the researchers recommends that the managers or owners of the oil and gas companies in  Nigeria should periodically negotiate with the labour union representatives in order to resolve contending issues thereby producing an atmosphere of workplace harmony and in order to avoid the incidence of strike, the managers of the oil and gas companies , should always  engage the workers by having a fruitful communication with the workers in the company individually or through their labour union representative on issues that has to be address and that can lead to industrial dispute if not properly handled.

Abstract: This study aimed to investigate parents' perceptions of the importance of teaching indigenous languages in the competence-based curriculum (CBC) of schools in Kiambu County. The study also aimed to assess parents' awareness of the current status of teaching indigenous languages in the CBC curriculum and to investigate their attitudes towards the curriculum's effectiveness and relevance by employing a mixed-methods research design, including surveys and interviews. The survey was administered to 200 parents from Kiambu County, and interviews were conducted with a subset of 20 parents. The collected data were analysed using  descriptive  statistics. The findings indicate that most parents perceive teaching indigenous languages in the CBC curriculum as crucial to preserving their cultural heritage and identity. However, many parents reported a lack of awareness regarding the current status of teaching indigenous languages in the CBC curriculum in Kiambu County. Furthermore, some parents expressed concerns over the curriculum's relevance and effectiveness, citing issues such as the lack of qualified teachers and resources and inadequate support from the government. The study highlights the need for increased awareness and support for the teaching of indigenous languages in the CBC curriculum in Kiambu County. The findings suggest that the government and other stakeholders should take steps to address the challenges faced in effectively implementing the curriculum, such as providing resources and training for teachers. Additionally, this study underscores the importance of involving parents and communities in the curriculum development process to ensure their buy-in and support the curriculum's objectives.

Abstract: This study provides a theoretical foundation and empirical literature review of the third-party logistics (3PL) industry in Cameroon. The conceptual framework emphasizes the theoretical foundations utilized in 3PL research, including microeconomics theory, competitive theory, decision theory, and marketing theory. The study identifies key opportunities and challenges associated with 3PL expansion in the country, such as government support, infrastructure development, a complex regulatory environment, corruption, and a lack of skilled labor. The study also provides recommendations for 3PL providers seeking to expand their operations in Cameroon, including diversifying their services, expanding geographically, and embracing technology. Abstract: This paper critically evaluates Kevin Harris’s views, as presented in his work Education and Knowledge: A Structured Misrepresentation of Reality. It explores Harris’s belief that formal education in capitalist liberal democracies primarily serves to misrepresent reality rather than unravel it. The paper argues that while Harris’s views are compelling, they are not entirely original and rely heavily on preexisting ideas. The paper concludes with a critical evaluation of Harris’s thoughts on education.

Abstract: This research work titled: An Assessment of the Communication Strategies Used in the Implementation of Zinc and Lo – ORS as Treatment of Choice for Childhood Diarrhoea Programme by Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) through an implementing partner (IP) Centre for Family Health Initiative (CFHI) in Kaduna State, Nigeria (A Study of Kaduna Metropolis: Kaduna North, South, Igabi and Chukun LGA). The study adopted three (3) theories for the research; Persuasion theory; Stages of Change (Trans – Theoretical Model) theory and Diffusion of Innovation theory. Indepth interview methodology was used and twelve (12) interview questions administered to a sample size of twelve (12) respondents which includes; Traditional/Religious leaders, Female Vanguard Group leaders, Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs), Community mobilisers, Healthcare workers/Providers who were involve in the campaign in the study area. A purposive sampling technique was used based on specific characteristics/qualities of the selected sample, and the method of analysis used was narrative and thematic analysis approach. The study revealed that, the funders used a variety of communication strategies integrated into the existing community/traditional structure in the area of study to influence collective community action, participation, ownership and promote acceptance of the campaign. It also, discovered that the vulnerable groups can be better reached through inter – personal communication strategy with health workers at the respective facilities in their communities. The study also find out that the campaign has changed the views, beliefs and perceptions of majority of the people about the use of WHO recommended Zinc and Lo – ORS as an effective treatment of choice for Childhood diarrhoea management. In this regard, the study recommends that the government should ensure a repeat of the campaign in areas where low successes were recorded due to issues of insecurity. It also recommended that there should be systematic evaluation of all diarrhoea interventions and other similar health campaigns within the State and the entire Country so as to constantly assess the outcome or impact of such programmes across the various areas (LGA/Wards) and population.
