Abstract: Sport injuries are the concern of sport medicine and rehabilitation. Physiotherapy is important in this rehabilitation plan with other team members of the rehabilitation team. A lot of studies have been conducted to assess the rates and prevalence of sports injury across the world but little has been done in Sudan. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of sport injury among student athletes at Ahfad University for Women (AUW). Methodology: A questionnaire designed by the researchers based on the study’s objectives was used on 61 players. A response of 57.4% was obtained. The data was collected at AUW and analyzed manually using percentages. Results: A total of 13 players sustained an injury giving a prevalence of 37.1%. The most affected body part was the ankle giving a prevalence of 38.5% and the mechanism of injury being landing. Most of these injuries were sustained chiefly because of insufficient practice (61.5%). The number of players that had access to physiotherapy intervention was significantly low (15%) which raises the need to address this issue. Discussion: This study showed relationships between knee injuries and basketball. Accessibility to physiotherapy services was a challenging fact limiting injury proper and complete rehabilitation. Lack of physiotherapy awareness among patients and other health professionals is an ongoing problem in Africa (Okonkwo et al, 2023). Therefore, the process of improving and developing physiotherapy services in Sudan should be continued and supported.

Conclusion: The prevalence of injuries in sport injuries among AUW were not high. Most of injured students lack awareness on how to access physiotherapy services. Recommendations: Awareness programs addressing preventive strategies and physiotherapy intervention is required for both the players and coaches in order to prevent future injuries.

Abstract: Ethiopia is endowed with a variety of ecosystem diversity with the chain of highlands, midlands and lowlands as well as more than 13 major vegetation types. This review based on identifying the existing opportunity and the major challenges of forest as well as suggests future directions for better forestry development and conservation practice Ethiopia.  Forestry directly contributes to the national economy through employment generation, potential foreign currency earnings through export, energy, food, industry, and tourism. Moreover,  it  provide  wide ecological values mainly as a major carbon sink regulating climate change, control erosion, maintain soil fertility, and reduce risk of natural disasters like flood and land slide. Even though, the forest provide varies ecological and economic value the deforestation, overgrazing, agricultural expansion and forest fire are becoming the main challenges threaten forest status in Ethiopia.  These challenges in turn results in other serious ecological consequences like loss of biodiversity, soil erosion, loss of soil fertility, food insecurity and poverty. However, to overcome these challenges, and improve the forest cover in Ethiopia, there are several potential opportunities including the Existence of forest policy, the signed a number of international agreement.  Ethiopia Launches Climate Resilient Green Economy (Green legacy), Agro forestry and home garden practices, Priority High Forests and National Parks, religious and other Sacred Site and the expansion of different protected area. Therefore, efforts should be made to address the existing challenges and apply those potentials opportunities entirely so as to develop and conserve the forest resources sustainably in Ethiopia.

Abstract: Ethiopia has started to expand wheat production in the lowlands under irrigation to substitute wheat import, achieve wheat self-sufficiency and create jobs along the wheat value chain. The experiment was laid out in random complete block design with three replications to evaluate 20 bread wheat genotypes. A field experiment was undertaken to analyze the genetic variability, correlation and path coefficient analysis of yield and its contributing traits under irrigation. Analysis of variance showed highly significant differences (≤0.01) among the genotypes for all the traits considered, which indicate the presence of adequate variability among the genotypes. The highest estimates of phenotypic coefficient of variation and genotypic coefficient of variation were observed for total tillers and effective tillers Moderate phenotypic coefficient of variation and genotypic coefficient of variation were observed for grain yield, grain filling period and heading. High heritability values were recorded for days to heading and days to maturity, which indicating that the traits were least influenced by environmental factors. Among the traits higher values of genetic advance as percent of means were observed for total tillers, effective tillers and grain yield. Grain yield had positive genotypic and phenotypic correlation with number of kernels per spike and spike length, indicating that selection of genotypes based on high mean values for these traits could be used to improve wheat yield rather than selecting based on yield alone. Genotypic path coefficient analysis revealed that number of kernels per spike, total tillers and number of spikelets per spike had the highest positive contribution towards grain yield. Over all the results indicates that any genetic improvement on those traits might improve grain yield.
